Ameresco picked for exclusive talks on U.S. Army power projects at Aberdeen, Picatinny sites

The Picatinny plan includes a phased rollout using modular microreactor technology followed by small modular reactors, subject to approvals.

Aberdeen is expected to include firm natural gas generation with an advanced nuclear option, with Ameresco working with Terrestrial Energy on an integrated molten salt reactor concept.

No construction will start until environmental and regulatory reviews are completed.

Ameresco was competitively selected by the U.S. Army to enter exclusive negotiations for long-term Enhanced Use Leases to develop commercial power generation projects at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland and Picatinny Arsenal in New Jersey.

The proposed campuses aim to add capacity to state power grids while providing resilient on-site power for the installations during qualifying utility outages.
