American Airlines operates first commercial passenger flight powered by Infinium eSAF
AAL•First commercial passenger flight using Infinium eSAF
American Airlines ran a commercial passenger flight using electro sustainable aviation fuel made from waste CO₂ and renewable electricity.
The blended eSAF met ASTM JetA specifications, enabling use in existing aircraft engines and fueling systems without modification.
Infinium estimates lifecycle greenhouse-gas emissions cuts of over 90% versus conventional petroleum-based jet fuel.
American holds an offtake deal tied to Infinium’s Project Roadrunner, targeting initial eSAF deliveries in 2027.
Project Roadrunner is expected to produce over 5 million gallons of eSAF annually at full capacity.
