American Electric Power Taps Andy Gurgol as VP of Investor Relations Ahead of $78B Investment Plan
American Electric Power appointed Andy Gurgol vice president of investor relations effective May 9, succeeding Darcy Reese who retires at year-end. Gurgol, who joined in January as managing director of corporate strategy and led $1.5 billion in renewable deals at NextEra, will convey AEP’s $78 billion 2026–2030 investment plan.

Gurgol joined AEP in January as managing director of corporate strategy and development, bringing 14 years of utility experience and having led over $1.5 billion in renewable energy investments at NextEra.
3. Retirement of Darcy Reese
Darcy Reese, who has overseen AEP’s investor relations since 2020 and guided quarterly earnings narratives, will retire at the end of 2026 after more than 35 years in finance and accounting.
