American Healthcare REIT names Jeff Hanson CEO as Danny Prosky retires

American Healthcare REIT named co-founder Jeff Hanson CEO, retaining his role as board chairman; he had served as interim CEO since February 2026.

Former CEO Danny Prosky retired from executive duties following a medical leave; he remains a director and management advisor.

COO Gabe Willhite was elevated to president; he joined in 2016, became executive vice president and general counsel in 2020.

Independent director Scott Estes was appointed lead independent director; he has been audit committee chair since June 2023.

Estes previously served as Welltower CFO from 2006 to 2017, leading capital markets activity that raised more than $24 billion.
