American Public Education’s APUS Introduces Master’s in Computer Science, AI Bachelor’s and Four New Concentrations
APUS introduced a Master of Science in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Science in AI for summer 2026, alongside four new concentrations including Quantum Computing and Robotics. A licensing deal with MIT CSAIL brings Machine Learning and UX Design courses, and three more degrees launch later in 2026.
1. Launch of New Degree Programs
American Public Education’s APUS opened registrations for a Master of Science in Computer Science and will offer a Bachelor of Science in AI starting summer 2026. These two flagship programs target growing demand for advanced computing and artificial intelligence skills across industries.
2. Introduction of Specialized Concentrations
The university added four STEM concentrations: Quantum Computing within the Computer Science program, Robotics and Autonomous Systems in Electrical Engineering, Blockchain and Digital Currency in Information Technology, and Climate Change and Resilience in Environmental Science.
3. MIT CSAIL Partnership and Future Offerings
Under a new licensing agreement with MIT CSAIL, APUS launched a Machine Learning in Business course and plans to introduce a User Experience Design class in spring 2026. The university also plans to roll out Bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Finance plus a Master of Science in Finance later in 2026.
