American Water’s Missouri American Water closed its acquisition of the City of Neosho’s water and wastewater systems for $34.5 million.
The assets serve about 5,400 water customers and 5,400 wastewater customers. 25 city employees will transition to the utility.
Neosho City Council backed the deal on Aug. 19, 2025; the Missouri Public Service Commission cleared it on June 24, 2026.
Planned investment in infrastructure
Missouri American Water plans about $35 million of infrastructure investment in Neosho over five years.
