Americold Realty Trust plans facility wind down and impairment charge
Americold Realty Trust Inc. said it will wind down its Lancaster, Pennsylvania facility and will not commence operations at its Plainville, Connecticut facility, according to an SEC filing.
Pennsylvania facility operations are expected to unwind by Dec. 31, 2026, while the Connecticut facility was idled immediately, the filing said.
There will be no termination fees or penalties, and the companies entered into a full mutual release of all claims, the filing said.
The facilities are to be held for sale in the third quarter of 2026. Their net book value was $455 million as of June 30, 2026, the filing said.
Americold expects a non-cash impairment charge of $305 million to $320 million in the second quarter of 2026.
The impairment and wind down are not expected to impact full-year 2026 outlook, according to the filing.
