Pradeep Natarajan said there is an opportunity to connect human genetics with drug development. He cited Repatha, whose target was identified with help from PCSK9 variants, and said deCODE Genetics' population research capabilities complement Amgen's drug development expertise. Genetic discoveries require further biological validation and continued testing before they can translate into potential medicines.
