An analyst raised Cohen & Steers from Hold to Buy after multiple new ETF launches proved successful, positioning the firm for additional asset inflows. Strategic hires in private real estate and Japan markets should accelerate growth in these high-margin segments.

1. Rating Upgrade Highlights Innovative ETF Launches and Key Hires

Analyst firm Greenfield Capital upgraded Cohen & Steers from Hold to Buy, citing the firm’s accelerated product innovation and strategic leadership additions. In 2025 the firm launched two new ETFs—an Asian Preferred Securities Fund and a European Infrastructure Real Assets Fund—that have already attracted combined net inflows of $770 million since their debut in May and September. These launches build on the success of the firm’s listed real estate strategy, which delivered 12.3% total return in the past 12 months. To support further expansion, Cohen & Steers appointed Keiko Tanaka as Head of Japan Real Estate, bringing 15 years of regional investment experience, and hired Mark Thompson as Director of Private Real Estate Strategies, formerly managing $2.1 billion in assets at a competing manager. The upgrades are expected to drive additional AUM growth and diversify fee streams.
