Anfield Energy Submits JD-8 Mine Permit Amendment, Eyes H2 2026 Production

AECAEC

Anfield Energy addressed all technical, financial and environmental comments from DOE and DRMS and submitted a permit amendment for its JD-8 uranium-vanadium mine in Montrose County, Colorado. It targets approval and mobilization by mid-2026, with production restarting in H2 using JD-7 hub and processing at Shootaring Canyon mill.

1. Permit Amendment Submitted

Anfield Energy has addressed all outstanding technical, financial and environmental comments from the U.S. Department of Energy and Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety and submitted a permit amendment for its JD-8 uranium-vanadium mine in Montrose County, Colorado. This submission builds on the initial Plan of Operations filed November 19, 2025, now advancing to full substantive review.

2. Production Timeline and Operations

The company expects regulatory approval and mobilization by mid-2026 with targeted production restart in the second half of 2026. It will leverage existing JD-7 infrastructure as the operational hub and send mined material to its 100%-owned Shootaring Canyon mill in Utah.

3. Strategic Advantages and Risks

Anfield’s hub-and-spoke strategy integrates JD-7 and JD-8 operations, reducing costs and streamlining processing through its Shootaring Canyon mill. However, the JD-8 restart decision relies on historical production data rather than a full feasibility study, posing additional economic and technical uncertainties.
