Anheuser-Busch Invests $5M in Columbus Brewery, Launches Technical Training Center
Anheuser-Busch has allocated $5 million to expand production capacity at its Columbus, Ohio brewery for Michelob ULTRA and Michelob ULTRA Zero. The company is also opening a technical skills training center to upskill over 90% of its manufacturing workforce as part of its $600 million U.S. investment initiative.
1. $5 Million Brewery Investment
Anheuser-Busch is directing a $5 million capital injection into its Columbus, Ohio brewery to increase output of its fastest-growing brands, Michelob ULTRA and Michelob ULTRA Zero. This funding will upgrade fermentation and packaging lines, enabling higher throughput and supporting regional demand growth.
2. Technical Skills Training Center
The company is inaugurating a new on-site technical skills training center focused on mechanical and electrical systems. This facility, one of fifteen nationwide, will deliver hands-on instruction and certification programs to enhance employee competencies and operational reliability.
3. Brewing Futures Initiative Context
These investments form part of the Brewing Futures initiative, under which Anheuser-Busch will invest $600 million across U.S. operations in 2025 and 2026. The program aims to modernize facilities, foster manufacturing innovation and strengthen long-term capacity for premium and non-alcohol beer production.
4. Veteran Workforce Development
As part of its community commitments, Anheuser-Busch is expanding veteran hiring through partnerships that translate military skills into manufacturing credentials. Approximately 10% of the Columbus workforce are veterans or active service members, and dedicated pathways aim to further increase veteran representation.
