Anthropic Deploys Claude Models on Azure Using NVIDIA GB300 Blackwell Ultra GPUs
NVDA•Anthropic deployed its Claude AI models on Microsoft Azure’s Foundry platform using NVIDIA GB300 Blackwell Ultra GPUs, marking the startup’s first deployment on NVIDIA hardware. The GB300 NVL72 systems paired with Quantum-X800 InfiniBand networking target higher inference performance and lower TCO for enterprise AI workloads.
1. Deployment Details
On June 29, Anthropic announced the availability of its Claude family of AI models on Microsoft Foundry’s Azure platform, running on NVIDIA’s GB300 Blackwell Ultra GPU systems. This marks the first time Anthropic has deployed its models on NVIDIA hardware, expanding compute options for enterprise customers.
2. Technical Specs and Performance
The deployment utilizes GB300 NVL72 GPU systems coupled with Quantum-X800 InfiniBand networking, designed to boost inference throughput and power efficiency. Enterprises can expect reduced latency and lower total cost of ownership for agentic AI applications.
3. Partnership Expansion
This launch builds on the strategic collaboration among NVIDIA, Microsoft and Anthropic initiated in November, aimed at broadening access to advanced AI agents. NVIDIA is also integrating its Verified Agent Skills and Secure Agent Workspace Reference Design into the Claude ecosystem.
4. Market Implications
By embedding GB300 GPUs into Azure’s Foundry environment, enterprises gain scalable infrastructure for domain-specific AI agents, likely driving incremental data center GPU sales for NVIDIA. The move strengthens NVIDIA’s position in the enterprise AI inference market and could accelerate cloud revenue growth.
