AMD committed to buy up to $5 billion of Anthropic stock and supply computing capacity expected to exceed $20 billion.

Anthropic said future demand for advanced AI systems is likely to exceed available supply and be limited principally by compute availability. It is shifting from a cloud-only model toward dedicated data centers and directly leased chips, while warning that its cloud providers Google, Amazon and Microsoft also develop rival AI models.
