Apollo Appoints Van Steenis and Jenkins to Lead European Policy Strategy
APO•Apollo will hire Huw van Steenis as Partner and European Economic & Policy Strategist, and Sarah Jenkins as Managing Director and Head of Government Affairs, Europe, both based in London starting in August. The firm manages nearly $240 billion in the region and has committed over $60 billion to EMEA investments including AB InBev, Air France, BP, EDF and Intel’s Fab 34.
1. Leadership Appointments
Apollo will onboard Huw van Steenis as Partner and European Economic & Policy Strategist and Sarah Jenkins as Managing Director and Head of Government Affairs, Europe. Both newly created positions commence in August and will operate from Apollo’s London headquarters.
2. Executives’ Backgrounds
Van Steenis brings over 25 years of advisory and strategy experience at institutions including Oliver Wyman, UBS and the Bank of England, while Jenkins has led public affairs for CPP Investments and held senior roles at HM Treasury and the European Parliament.
3. European Investment Scale
With nearly $240 billion of assets under management in EMEA, Apollo has committed over $60 billion to investments spanning corporate debt, real estate, aviation, semiconductors and energy infrastructure across key markets including AB InBev, Air France, BP, EDF and Intel’s Irish Fab 34.
