1. Settlement Agreement
Apple has agreed to a $250 million settlement over its marketing of AI-powered Siri features as key selling points for the iPhone 16 lineup and select iPhone 15 Pro models while denying any wrongdoing. The settlement will require preliminary court approval before notices are issued to eligible customers.
2. Eligible Devices and Payouts
The agreement covers approximately 37 million U.S. iPhone 16, 16e, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, 16 Pro Max, 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max units sold from June 10, 2024 to March 29, 2025. Individual payouts are projected between $25 and $95 per eligible device, depending on overall participation rates.
3. Claims Process and Timeline
Upon preliminary approval today, settlement administrator Verita will obtain customer contact information from Apple and send notices via email or mail. Affected customers will then have 90 days from receipt of notice to follow provided instructions and submit their claims.
