Axis Bank is the first Indian bank to offer Apple Pay. Customers with eligible Visa or Mastercard credit cards can add them through the bank’s mobile app or Apple Wallet and pay in stores, in apps and online using an iPhone, Apple Watch or iPad.
Axis Bank had 16.3 million credit cards outstanding in August, out of 124 million nationwide, central bank data showed. India’s Unified Payments Interface accounts for 84% of digital payment volumes, according to a 2025 IMF report.
