Investors in Ares Management’s $22.7 billion Ares Strategic Income Fund sought to redeem 13.1% of shares in the third quarter, down from 14.4% in the previous quarter. The fund limited withdrawals to its customary 5% threshold.
The fund said repeat requests accounted for much of the redemption pressure, while net new withdrawal demands amounted to 3% of net asset value. Investors who first requested repurchases in the first quarter of 2026 and resubmitted unfulfilled portions in the second and third quarters are expected to have received nearly 80% of their originally requested capital. The fund expects to mostly satisfy remaining requests by year-end if withdrawals stay in line with the third quarter.
Redemption pressures at major non-traded private credit funds have started to ease as asset managers clear backlogs and investor sentiment rebounds. Earlier this month, BlackRock and Apollo also reported declines in redemption requests at their private credit funds.
