Argentina President Milei meets Eni CEO Descalzi at Argentina Week in Paris
E•Eni CEO Claudio Descalzi met Argentina President Javier Milei in Paris to discuss energy cooperation and investment opportunities. They reviewed an LNG project targeting initial output of 12 million tonnes per year, with a final investment decision expected by year-end.
1. LNG project plans
The project with YPF and XRG plans two floating liquefied natural gas units, each with capacity of 6 million tonnes per year. First production is scheduled for 2030, while an expansion to 18 million tonnes per year is under review.
2. Eni’s stake
Eni holds a 32% stake in upstream Vaca Muerta blocks that will feed the project.
