1. Ark Invest Reduces AMD Position
Ark Invest sold more than 190,000 shares of Advanced Micro Devices, trimming its AMD stake by roughly $59 million. This reduction marks a shift away from pure-play semiconductor exposure within the fund’s portfolio.
2. Fund Boosts AI and Cloud Leaders
Proceeds from the AMD sale were redeployed into over 300,000 Nvidia shares valued at about $35.7 million. Ark also added more than 22,000 Broadcom shares, 267,600 Alphabet shares and 45,700 Meta Platforms shares, reflecting a tilt toward AI, cloud infrastructure and digital advertising.
3. Implications for AMD Stock
The sell-off by a high-profile investor may increase selling pressure on AMD shares in the near term. However, broader demand for chips tied to AI workloads and upcoming product launches could counterbalance this shift in institutional positioning.
