Ark’s Next Generation Internet ETF Buys $14.5M Amazon, $2.6M Alibaba, Cuts TSMC
Ark Invest’s ARKW fund bought 66,934 Amazon shares valued at $14.5 million and 19,583 Alibaba shares valued at $2.6 million while adding 200,856 Joby Aviation shares for $2 million. It also cut TSMC exposure by selling 13,663 shares worth $4.9 million and divested 1.4 million Nextdoor shares worth $2.3 million.
1. Amazon Acquisition
Ark’s Next Generation Internet ETF purchased 66,934 Amazon shares across multiple Ark funds at an average closing price of $216.82, resulting in a $14.5 million investment. This move reflects confidence in Amazon’s Q4 revenue of $213.39 billion and its commitment to raise capital expenditures to $200 billion.
2. Alibaba Stake Increase
The fund added 19,583 Alibaba shares at a closing price of $133.27, investing roughly $2.6 million. The purchase follows leadership changes in Alibaba’s Qwen AI division and a surge in monthly active users from 31 million in January to 203 million in February.
3. Portfolio Rebalancing
Ark Invest acquired 200,856 Joby Aviation shares for about $2 million, sold 13,663 TSMC shares worth $4.9 million, and divested 1,405,207 Nextdoor shares valued at $2.3 million. Additional trades included sales of Roku and Iridium Communications shares and purchases of Roblox and Archer Aviation stock.
