ARM Server Share Hits 17.7% as Q1 CPU Shipments Climb 19%
ARM’s server CPU share rose from 11.5% to 17.7% in Q1, as total server shipments jumped 19% year-on-year and 6% quarter-on-quarter. Analysts project hyperscaler capex growth of 81% will boost ARM’s adoption for power-efficient AI head nodes and expect 40–45% unit share by 2030.
1. Q1 Server Share Gains
Total server CPU shipments grew roughly 6% quarter-on-quarter and 19% year-on-year in Q1, with ARM’s market share jumping from 11.5% to 17.7% while Intel fell to 54.9% and AMD reached 27.4%.
2. AI and Hyperscaler Demand
Hyperscaler capital expenditures surged 81% year-on-year, driving stronger uptake of ARM’s power-efficient architecture in head nodes and other AI applications where energy efficiency is critical.
3. Long-Term Market Outlook
The overall server CPU market is projected to expand nearly fivefold to about $170 billion by 2030, with ARM expected to capture 40–45% of unit shipments as AI workloads and efficiency requirements accelerate adoption.
