1. New investment strategy
Artisan Partners hired Jonathan Brudnick from activist investor Sachem Head Capital Management to run an investment strategy the firm plans to roll out to clients next year. The strategy will focus on concentrated, long-biased investments in small- and mid-sized companies.
2. Brudnick’s prior work
Brudnick will spend the coming weeks building a team and preparing for the launch. At Sachem Head, where he was a partner, he worked on investments including the fund’s campaign at U.S. Foods Holding and joined the Six Flags Entertainment board last year as part of a settlement. He is expected to keep that board seat as Sachem Head’s representative. Artisan oversees $168.7 billion in assets and has 11 investment teams.
