Sagimet dosed the first patient in its U.S. Phase III AURORA trial of denifanstat, also known as ASC40, for moderate to severe acne. The trial targets approximately 800 patients, including 450 adolescents aged 12 or older, and is intended to support a potential U.S. application for marketing approval.
Previously reported Chinese Phase III results showed greater treatment success versus placebo than sarecycline, doxycycline or clascoterone cream. Under an exclusive license from Sagimet, Ascletis holds denifanstat development, manufacturing and commercialization rights in Greater China.
