The AST1840 combines an Arm-based processing subsystem with an embedded FPGA, supports the Open Compute Project’s OBMF-ICP standard via dual downstream/upstream USB interfaces, and leverages Caliptra 2.x streaming boot for enhanced security and lifecycle adaptability.

AST1840 is slated for third-quarter 2026 availability, enabling customers to deploy scalable, programmable control layers across modern server infrastructures, and both companies intend to explore additional integrated programmability solutions in future platforms.
