Assurant report shows German consumers demand transparency, control in connected tech adoption

Assurant’s 2026 Global Connected Consumer Trends Report flagged Germany as a steady connected-tech market with a Technology Sentiment Index of 63, near the global average.

Survey data showed 77% of German consumers said connected technology has improved their lives, alongside rising expectations for transparent pricing and reliable performance.

Customizable device protection emerged as a demand driver, with 82% more likely to buy or keep a plan when it is flexible.

Brand impact also strengthened, with 80% saying customization improves brand perception as AI-enabled devices raise product complexity.

Support preferences skewed toward self-service, signaling pressure on providers to deliver streamlined digital help while maintaining user control.
