The combination improved survival versus standard care and reduced progression or recurrence in patients ineligible for cisplatin-based chemotherapy or who refused it. No new safety signals emerged, though severe adverse events were more common with the combination. Results are being presented at the ESMO Congress 2026 in Madrid and were simultaneously published in The New England Journal of Medicine.
