1. AT&T Posts Robust Q4 Earnings

AT&T reported fourth-quarter results that exceeded consensus estimates, delivering revenue of $31.2 billion versus analyst expectations near $30.8 billion and adjusted EPS of $0.88 compared with forecasts of $0.85. The company attributed top-line strength to a 5% year-over-year increase in wireless service revenues—driven by the addition of 350,000 postpaid phone subscribers—and a 4% rise in broadband revenues thanks to 220,000 net fiber customer additions. Continued progress on its fiber convergence strategy lifted fiber penetration to 52% of broadband customers, while 5G device activations reached 48 million users by year-end. However, legacy wireline revenues declined 3%, and overall adjusted EBITDA margin contracted by 80 basis points as the company absorbed higher data backhaul and network modernization costs. Management reiterated capital return plans, noting $8 billion in planned dividends and buybacks for fiscal 2026, and forecasted mid‐single-digit adjusted EPS growth for the year ahead.
