August construction spending data
SPY•U.S. construction spending rose 0.9% in August to an annual rate of $2.2031 trillion, while economists had forecast no change. Spending was down 1.7% from a year earlier.
1. Spending rises in August
Total construction spending increased to an annual rate of $2.2031 trillion in August, from $2.1845 trillion in July. Private spending rose 1.1% and public spending increased 0.2% from July.
