Aurora Networks Launches CCAP Update Delivering 2G×1G and 4G×1G Low Latency Services
VISN•Aurora Networks launched its E6000® Converged Edge Router and C100G CCAP platforms with Low Latency DOCSIS support, enabling cable operators to deliver 2G×1G and 4G×1G service tiers. Tier‐1 North American carriers are enabling LLD across eight markets and a European operator is fully licensing bandwidth on E6000 CERs.
1. Product Features
Aurora Networks introduced its E6000® Converged Edge Router and C100G CCAP platforms with integrated Low Latency DOCSIS (LLD) support, Remote PHY Distributed Access Architecture and DOCSIS 3.1 Enhanced architectures. These solutions enable cable operators to boost channel density, power efficiency and fiber-like responsiveness using existing hybrid fiber-coax assets.
2. Customer Deployments
A Tier 1 North American cable operator is rolling out a 4G×1G service tier, while another Tier 1 U.S. carrier is deploying a 2G×1G tier and enabling LLD across eight markets. A Tier 1 European operator plans to fully license all bandwidth on its E6000 CERs and a Tier 2 North American provider is launching a 5G×1G service tier.
3. Performance Benefits and Outlook
Low Latency DOCSIS prioritizes time-sensitive traffic for applications like video conferencing, cloud computing and online gaming, reducing network delays and improving peak usage reliability without hardware replacements. Aurora’s vCCAP Evo virtual platform also supports bandwidth expansion and LLD to facilitate future upgrades and optimize capital expenditures.
