EWA•Australia and New Zealand markets expected to open firmer
Sept. 15 (Reuters) - Australian shares were expected to open higher on Wednesday, with energy names likely catching an oil-powered lift from Middle East tensions, while rising yields and inflation nerves set the stage for a U.S. Federal Reserve meeting later in the day.
The local share price index futures YAPcm1 rose 0.3%, a 61.9-point discount to the underlying S&P/ASX 200 index .AXJO close. The benchmark fell 0.9% on Tuesday.
Across the Tasman Sea, New Zealand's benchmark S&P/NZX 50 index .NZ50 rose 0.2% in early trade.
