Australia's Elevra signs spodumene supply deal with South Korea's LG Energy Solution
LIT•Elevra signed a deal to supply LG Energy Solution with 240,000 dry metric tonnes of spodumene concentrate over three years, with first shipment expected in 2026. The agreement allows for up to 90,000 additional tonnes if both parties agree.
1. Supply agreement
Elevra will supply spodumene concentrate from its North American Lithium project in Quebec, Canada, to LG Energy Solution. The three-year term begins with the first shipment, expected in 2026.
2. Potential additional supply
Elevra could supply up to 90,000 dry metric tonnes of additional concentrate if both parties agree. Spodumene concentrate is a key raw material for producing lithium chemicals used in electric-vehicle batteries.
3. North American operations
LG Energy Solution said it has five standalone and joint venture battery facilities in North America. The company is seeking to bolster its regional supply chain and meet growing demand for energy storage systems.
