Avangrid completed the 166MW-DC (120MW-AC) Tower Solar project in Morrow County, Oregon, commissioning the plant this summer with over 250,000 panels. The facility will deliver renewable power to Portland General Electric's Green Future Impact program, support QTS data centers and create 200 union jobs and $20 million in taxes.
Avangrid subsidiary Avangrid has finished building the 166MW-DC (120MW-AC) Tower Solar facility in Morrow County, Oregon, connecting it to the grid and deploying over 250,000 SEG Solar modules manufactured in Houston.
Upon commissioning this summer, the plant will supply renewable electricity to Portland General Electric via the Green Future Impact program and support QTS data center operations in the Pacific Northwest.
Construction generated around 200 regional union jobs, and the facility is projected to contribute roughly $20 million in combined payments in lieu of taxes and property taxes, bolstering the local economy.
Tower Solar expands Avangrid’s managed capacity to more than 11 GW across nearly 100 projects in 25 states and follows its recent 199.5 MW Big Horn I wind power purchase agreement with Puget Sound Energy.
