Avid, Google Cloud expand partnership to roll out browser-based Media Composer with Gemini integration

Alphabet’s Google Cloud expanded a strategic partnership with Avid to deliver a browser-based version of Avid Media Composer in Chrome.

Gemini Enterprise integration targets agentic editing, automated tagging, transcription, translation, timeline organization, and conversational media search within Avid workflows.

BigQuery integration aims to link newsroom planning with editing, syncing production data for plain-language queries on costs, staffing, resource use, performance.

The hybrid cloud model keeps high-resolution assets in customers’ Google Cloud environments while centralizing media processing and AI workflows via Avid Content Core.

The companies plan to showcase the new capabilities at IBC2026 in Amsterdam on Sept. 11-14.
