AWS, Nvidia expand AI infrastructure partnership with plan to deploy 2 million more GPUs
AMZN•AWS and Nvidia expand partnership
AWS expanded its strategic collaboration with Nvidia to add 2 million GPUs across AWS global infrastructure in 2027-2028.
The planned rollout spans Nvidia Blackwell Ultra, Rubin, and Rubin Ultra GPUs to meet rising demand for agentic AI, scientific computing, and robotics.
Infrastructure and government workload plans
The partnership also adds Nvidia Vera CPU-based infrastructure to AWS to support AI workloads that need high-performance CPU compute alongside accelerators.
The companies plan U.S. government “AI factories,” including 100,000 GPUs on secure AWS infrastructure for federal and national-security workloads.
Integration work targets tighter security and reliability through AWS Nitro System and Elastic Fabric Adapter to support large-scale training clusters.
