Axcelis Gains SBTi Approval for 65.88% 2030 Emissions Cut, Net-Zero by 2050
Axcelis Technologies has received Science Based Targets initiative approval for net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain by 2050 and interim 2030 goals. The company will cut absolute scope 1 and 2 emissions by 65.88% and scope 3 emissions by 51.6% per USD value added by 2030 from a 2022 baseline.
1. SBTi Approval of Emissions Targets
Axcelis has secured approval from the Science Based Targets initiative for its greenhouse gas reduction roadmap, marking formal validation of its climate goals and alignment with global climate stabilization objectives.
2. 2030 and 2050 GHG Reduction Goals
The approved roadmap targets a 65.88% reduction in absolute scope 1 and 2 emissions and a 51.6% reduction in scope 3 emissions per USD value added by 2030 from a 2022 baseline. It further commits to a 90.0% cut in scope 1 and 2 emissions and a 97.0% reduction in scope 3 per USD value added by 2050, aiming for net-zero across the value chain.
