Ballard CEO Neese says GeoPura tie-up accelerates hydrogen stationary power rollout
BLDP•Ballard outlines GeoPura tie-up
Ballard management outlined plans to combine Ballard fuel cell engines with GeoPura’s hydrogen supply, logistics, refueling, and Energy-as-a-Service operations.
CEO Marty Neese framed the tie-up as a push into stationary power while extending GeoPura’s service model to Ballard’s mobility customers.
Management emphasized scaling an end-to-end hydrogen offering as a path to profitability, cost reductions, and a broader customer base.
Expansion and deployment targets
President Andrew Cunningham highlighted geographic expansion beyond the UK into Europe, Canada, and the US, leveraging Ballard’s North American footprint.
GeoPura’s HPU2 system was cited at 0.5 MW per unit, scaling to 50 MW, targeting demand from data centers and grid-constrained sites.
