Ballard Power Systems extends fuel cell supply agreement with Solaris
BLDP•Ballard Power Systems extended its long-term supply agreement with Solaris. Its FCmove-SC fuel cell engine will debut in series production in the new-generation Solaris Urbino 12 hydrogen bus, with 57% higher volumetric power density and 40% fewer parts.
1. Expanded cooperation
Ballard Power Systems announced expanded cooperation with Solaris on Nov. 5, 2026, following an extension of their long-term supply agreement. The FCmove-SC fuel cell engine will make its series-production debut in the new-generation Solaris Urbino 12 hydrogen bus.
2. Engine specifications
The engine increases volumetric power density by 57% and reduces total part count by 40%, targeting lower lifecycle costs for transit operators.
