Ballard Secures 50 MW New Flyer Deal for 500 Fuel Cell Engines
Ballard Power Systems secured a commercial agreement with New Flyer for 500 FCmove®-HD+ fuel cell engines totaling 50 MW, the largest single commitment in their partnership. Deliveries begin in 2026 for Xcelsior CHARGE FC hydrogen buses across North America, supported by expanded fleet services.

Ballard Power Systems reached a commercial agreement with New Flyer for 500 FCmove®-HD+ fuel cell engines totaling 50 megawatts, marking the largest single order since the partnership began.
2. Delivery Schedule
Deliveries are slated to start in 2026, supplying New Flyer’s Xcelsior CHARGE FC hydrogen buses across North America as a direct diesel replacement.
3. Operational Track Record
Ballard-powered fleets have grown to over 2,200 fuel cell buses worldwide, collectively logging more than 250 million kilometers with 98% availability and zero reported safety incidents.
