Banco de Chile reports higher 2Q26 profit and operating income
Banco de Chile posted 2Q26 net income of Ch$ 390.57 billion, up 28.1% from 2Q25.
Total operating income climbed 20.9% to Ch$ 922.03 billion, driven by net interest and inflation-linked income; net fees rose 10.7% to Ch$ 172.33 billion.
Credit loss expense more than doubled to Ch$ 165.08 billion, reflecting Ch$ 50 billion in additional provisions tied to higher macro uncertainty.
Operating expenses edged up 2.8% to Ch$ 288.67 billion, improving the efficiency ratio to 31.3% from 36.8% a year earlier.
The bank trimmed its 2026 loan-growth outlook to about 6% from about 7%, keeping its net interest margin forecast near 4.6%.
