Bank of America has agreed to a $2.25 million settlement to resolve allegations that it charged two out-of-network balance inquiry fees for a single balance check at FCTI-owned ATMs located inside 7-Eleven stores. The bank denies wrongdoing but opted to settle to avoid further litigation expenses and trial risks.

2. Eligibility Criteria

U.S. checking account holders assessed more than one out-of-network inquiry fee during the same visit to a qualifying ATM between May 1, 2018, and November 16, 2021, are eligible. Current account holders with notices will receive payouts automatically, while past holders must submit claims by July 29, 2026.

3. Approval Hearing and Timeline

A final hearing for court approval of the settlement is scheduled for August 21, 2026. Customers who wish to opt out or object must act by July 7, 2026, to preserve separate legal rights or voice concerns before distribution begins.
