BAC•Bank of America plans to hire 1,000 additional apprentices over the next two years, targeting workers without four-year degrees. It will invest $150 million over five years in workforce development organizations.
The bank said the additional hires will expand its skills-based hiring in local communities. The commitment is on top of more than 800 apprentices it already hires each year through programs in consumer banking, technology and other business areas.
The $150 million investment will support organizations that help people gain job-ready skills and connect with employment opportunities, including local organizations, universities, community colleges and nonprofit groups focused on workforce training.
