European shares rose in early trading as investors continued to process the U.S. midterm election results. The STOXX 600 was last up 0.7%, led by banks, which gained 2.8%; a drop in oil prices around the open also helped lift stocks.

Novo Nordisk gained 4% after results beat expectations and it raised its full-year forecasts; its shares were down around 70% from their 2024 peak.
