BARK Sees $28M Annual Savings from Cost Cuts, Awaits $15M IEEPA Tariff Refunds
BARK’s Q4 cost reductions are projected to deliver up to $28 million in savings, driven by $26 million in workforce and efficiency measures and $2 million from office footprint cuts. BARK paid $15.4 million in IEEPA tariffs and awaits potential refunds once a processing system launches in late April 2026.
1. Annualized $28M Cost Reduction Initiatives
During Q4 of fiscal 2026, BARK implemented targeted headcount reductions, increased use of AI automation, and streamlined external and offshore partnerships to align costs, generating approximately $26 million in annual savings. The company also cut its corporate office footprint to realize an additional $2 million in yearly savings, totaling $28 million.
2. Potential $15.4M IEEPA Tariff Refunds
Following a February 2026 Supreme Court ruling that IEEPA tariffs lacked legal authorization, the U.S. Court of International Trade ordered refunds. BARK has paid $15.4 million in these tariffs, with $10.5 million allocated to cost of goods sold for the year ending March 31, 2026, and awaits the launch of a refund processing system expected by late April 2026, though timing and amounts remain uncertain.
