Barnes & Noble Education posted Q1 revenue of $290.6 million, up 0.8% year over year.
Net loss narrowed 29.3% to $12.91 million; loss per share improved to $0.37.
Adjusted EBITDA loss improved 18.9% to $9.3 million; BNC First Day program revenue rose 9% to $124.7 million.
Outlook and program expansion
Fall 2026 First Day Complete is set to span 263 campuses, reaching more than 1.43 million students, up about 26% versus Fall 2025.
The company maintained its fiscal 2027 outlook, targeting adjusted EBITDA of $85 million to $92 million; CEO Jonathan Shar said the year began “on plan.”
