B•Barrick Mining said its North America exploration push aims to sustain production of at least 3 million ounces a year. It also outlined drilling targets, production goals for Cortez and Nevada, and a Lumwana expansion expected to double copper output to 240,000 tonnes a year.
1. Exploration and production targets
Barrick Mining plans drilling at KB, Crow, Meadow, Goldrush and Fourmile over the next 12 months. It targets annual Cortez output of 1 million ounces, on a 100% basis, for more than a decade, and expects Nevada Gold Mines output to exceed 3 million ounces a year beyond 2030.
2. Lumwana expansion
Barrick said the Lumwana super pit expansion is expected to double copper output to 240,000 tonnes a year and extend the mine’s life to 30 years.
