Barrick Mining appointed James J. McGuire Chief Legal and Policy Officer to oversee legal, compliance, regulatory and public policy functions, and elevated Poupak Bahamin to General Counsel. Barrick Mining Corporation has named James J. McGuire as Chief Legal and Policy Officer and Woo Lee as Chief Global Affairs Officer, both reporting to CEO Mark Hill and joining the Executive Committee. Poupak Bahamin was elevated to General Counsel to strengthen legal and compliance leadership.
2. Chief Legal and Policy Officer: James J. McGuire
James J. McGuire brings over 30 years of legal and policy experience, including service as a litigation partner at Greenspoon Marder LLP and as a federal criminal prosecutor. He will oversee Barrick’s legal, compliance, regulatory and public policy functions to support the company's operational and strategic initiatives.
3. Chief Global Affairs Officer: Woo Lee
Woo Lee, a Barrick veteran with over 11 years in government and corporate affairs in the Asia Pacific region, will lead global government relations and sovereign engagement. His 30 years of diplomatic service across Washington and East Asia aim to bolster Barrick’s strategic objectives, license to operate and long-term value creation.
