BAT to invest CAD 187.5 million in Organigram through private placement
BTI•British American Tobacco will invest GBP 100 million (CAD 187.5 million) in Organigram through a private placement to help fund Organigram’s acquisition of Aurora, valued at approximately CAD 561 million.
1. Placement details
British American Tobacco will subscribe for 141 million Organigram shares at CAD 1.33 each. The placement is expected to close concurrently with the acquisition in January 2027, subject to shareholder, regulatory and court approvals; BAT will receive non-voting Class A convertible preferred shares where its common-share ownership would otherwise exceed 30%.
