Battered bonds draw support from falling oil prices

The 30-year yield rose 2.63 basis points to 5.4883%, after touching its highest level since 2004. Oil prices dropped about 3% as hopes grew for a U.S.-Iran truce, though traders remained concerned about possible supply disruptions from attacks on Saudi Arabia.
The ICE BofA MOVE Index, which measures bond-market volatility, rose roughly 30% this week, its largest increase since April 2025. U.S. stocks gained, with the Dow up 0.93%, the S&P 500 up 0.51% and the Nasdaq up 0.48%. Microsoft rose 3.66% after unveiling new Copilot capabilities.
