Executive vice president to retire after more than 20 years

BD executive vice president Mike Garrison will retire effective Oct. 2, ending more than 20 years at the company.

Garrison currently leads the Medical Essentials and BioPharma Systems segments; he will stay in role through fiscal year-end.

BD launched a search for the next president of Medical Essentials.

BioPharma Systems will report directly to CEO Tom Polen under a streamlined operating model.

Garrison previously led BD’s Medical segment, Medication Management Solutions, and Surgery; he joined BD in 2005 from medtech R&D and marketing roles.
