Bell completes subsea fibre buildout to connect Nova Scotia’s Tancook Islands to network
BCE•Bell completed a fibre Internet expansion to Big and Little Tancook Islands, targeting about 184 homes and businesses. The buildout includes about 7 km of submarine cable and 8 km of new island infrastructure.
1. Island fibre expansion
Bell connected Big and Little Tancook Islands in Nova Scotia directly to its fibre network through a subsea deployment in the Blandford area. The project included about 7 km of submarine fibre cable and 8 km of new fibre infrastructure on the islands, replacing reliance on fixed wireless and satellite Internet service.
